Perfect for a quiet getaway tucked away in Gacharage-ini, can get an extended guided hike (which takes you by the river, through tea farms, up and down the hill), biking, or fishing. Cosy atmosphere with very good food (10/10!!!) Service is perfect...friendly staff and fresh food all the time! Soup of the day always a winner!!!

  • Having camped both at the hotel site and next to the river at the self catering river-front cottages (Mathioya), I highly recommend this place for an out of town-mind relaxing-lung cleansing experience 😁 for solo travellers, families and couples. The staff are more than happy to help and make you feel at home. In deed a hidden gem worth the visit. Nearby activities: Mathioya river line walk, picnic, bird watching, tea factory visit, purple tea farm hike, fishing and Gatamaiyu waterfall hike Food and drinks: Good, fresh local food. From free range (kienyeji) chicken, farm sourced green veggies, mukimo etc Noteworthy details: For bird watchers, ask for Wilson to guide you. He’s well versed, including plant species. Cool chap.
